The first time I saw Erica I thought “Finally! A girl who can pull off the half bun!” as I am still desperately trying to perfect mine. We’re in Fashion Writing together and her unique grunge-y style led me to essentially give her no choice but to have a street style profile. She’s just that cool.
Name: Erica Lauren-Maydo
Program: Honours Specialization in Media, Information and Technoculture and a minor in Sociology
What She’s Wearing: Lace trim from Fabricland as a choker, floral dress shirt with an oversized sweater and faux angora vest (all from Aritzia), Danier leather jacket, Topshop ‘Mom’ jeans, Aritzia blanket scarf, ombre socks over her ankle brace (the dangers of dance), studded leather boots, her grandfather’s wristwatch and assorted mixed metal rings.
Style Inspiration: Erica definitely exudes a grunge vibe and references the 90s and the Olsen twins as inspiration. She is constantly being inspired by her friends and loves being ‘sloppily’ put together.
How she defines her personal style: Totally mismatched. She loves styling very feminine, tight-fitting pieces with oversized sweaters and scarves. Her favourite flannels are from her grandfather and she loves stealing her brother’s shirts.
