1. Over the Knee Boots If you are going to purchase one boot for Fall, make it a suede, over-the-knee boot. These boots have impressive versatility in that they can be worn to class, on a date, or simply dressed up for a casual night at the bar. The over-the-knee element adds a subtle sexiness to any outfit; fitting close to the leg they mimic the look of stockings. 2. Combat Boots Combats have been in style for decades, with no indication of dwindling popularity. There are a myriad of variations available regarding colour, exterior details such as studding and zippers, and interior features like wool or tartan linings. To make sure your boots last your daily walks up UC Hill, buy combats made of thick durable leather. 3. Ankle Strap Heel Other than plain black or nude pumps, ankle strap heels are one of the most easily worn types of shoe. They look great with regular jeans, cropped pants, pencil skirts and formal gowns – and the amount of toe cleavage they provide is unsurpassable. The simplicity of the shoe adds a laissez faire element to any outfit, just make sure your toes are properly manicured! 4. Lace-up Heel Probably the sexiest pair of heels on the market at the moment, the lace-up heel gives even the most demure ensemble a taste of S&M. This shoe can range from the laces ending at the ankle, to going up the leg near the knee, and everywhere in between. My only warning is that you will need at least 5 minutes to get these shoes on and it will feel like a booby-trap. 5. Open-toed Bootie This is a shoe that carries over well from the summer season. It’s low heel means you can wear it for hours comfortably at work or in class, but its style makes it perfect for Mondays at Jacks or Wednesdays at JBRs – ideal if you’re short on time between class and heading downtown. This bootie looks best in black leather with buckle accents. By Amelia ter Brugge |
