Let’s face it: January sucks. With the holiday season behind us, there isn’t much January has to offer other than grey skies and negative temperatures. It’s easy to fall into the rut of lying in bed, watching Netflix, and eating junk food… We’ve all been there, total hermit mode. Inevitably, by the end of January your resolution to get fit and healthy fades like a drunk and distant memory.
The trick to staying on track?
1. Eat colourful! Eating a variety of colourful foods adds interest to your diet. If you can make yourself (remotely) excited about eating fruits and veggies, you’ll be less likely to turn back to cookies and chips.
2. Eat foods that offer natural flavour, rather than over-processed packaged foods. Choosing foods that offer natural sweetness, for example, can satisfy cravings for chocolate or ice-cream without making you feel sluggish.
Here are some vibrant, simple, and tasty snacks that will give a boost to your energy and your mood.

Sliced Mango & Lime (Candy Cravings)
Greek Yogurt, Pomegranate & Granola (Ice Cream Substitute)
Crispy Chick Peas (Better than Chips)
The next time you find yourself reaching for the chip bag, reach for these instead- they don’t disappoint! This super easy-to-make snack satisfies any craving for a salty crunch, and you can customize the flavour to match your favourite chips. Personally, I love Rachel Ray’s recipe. You can find it here |
Happy eating!
