It seems to happen every year. The mornings get colder, lecture attendance drops like the icicles you dodge on your way to class, and your relationship with your bed turns into something of an obsession. Winter is coming and with it, comes the urge to just crawl into bed and stay there until spring hits in April. But don’t let the cold weather blues stop you from getting up every day and looking great! Here are some tips to get your wardrobe ready in the morning.
1. Get your outfit ready the night before
I know, I’ve been there before too. After a night of cramming a month worth of lectures into your mind, you collapse on your bed for those 2 hours of sleep (if you’re lucky). When you wake up, you realize that class is in 10 minutes and it’s on the other side of campus. But to avoid throwing on the same hoodie you’ve been wearing for the last 2 weeks, you could try setting up an outfit the night before. Pick out your favorite top, jeans or leggings, scarf, and winter boots and place them on top of your dresser before going to bed. In the morning rush, all you need to do is throw everything on, grab a jacket, and dash off to your next class! |
2. Back up alarms (and a lot of them)
At times like these, setting only one alarm is like living on the edge. Chances are, you’re going to sleep through it. Take the advice of someone who knows people who have slept through alarms or have had their roommate turn it off for them, extra alarms are your saviors. No one wants to sleep through an exam or final (it’s pretty awful). So take the time to set 3 or even 5 alarms to make sure you make that test. Better yet, try to wake up on the first alarm. |
3. Try to wake up consistently
Even though the semester is almost over, you still have a ton of exams waiting. Why study through the night when you have the morning to do the same thing? Try to beat the rush and get to Weldon before it fills up because you know it will. If you can set a schedule for yourself to wake up at a certain time every day, chances are you’ll get used to it within a week or so. There’s so much time in the morning to be productive and to get yourself ready. |
Last thing, we’re almost there, guys and gals. Only 18 days until last day of exams and Christmas will be upon us. Make an effort to use this time well. Good luck, you can definitely do it!
